Oktoberfest Season

You don’t have to travel to the Alps to get a taste of Oktoberfest.

Here — in and around the Adirondacks — we have our own Oktoberfest traditions that highlight excellent local beers. Most of our local breweries produce fresh Oktoberfest-style brews during this season, so be sure to visit all of them and sample their seasonal offerings.

They’re the perfect pairing with the crisp, autumnal air along with some bratwurst and pretzels!

Lake Placid Pub & Brewery’s Oktoberfest is coming up Oct. 5. They will have food, games, music, and of course, great beer! There is also an annual 5k to start the day off.

In Fort Edward located in Washington County just outside the Adirondacks, you can experience Locktoberfest on Saturday, October 19.

This is the fourth year they’ve had that celebration of the harvest season, which includes a say of family fun highlighting local products you can find along the Champlain Canal.

Locktoberfest features farmers, artisans and vendors from our area as well as delicious food and drink options.

Head to the craft beverage tasting tent there to sample regional beer, wine and ciders.

Also on Saturday October 19, the Adirondack Brewery in Lake George will have its 14th Annual Oktoberfest from 1 to 5 p.m. at the brewery.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks.
